i reserve the right to use my journal as a journal. (i.e. talk about myself way more here than i would in real life, when i'm talking to someone else and listening to them.)

I recently met someone who said to me, "ok, so as you're ian's friend you must be a dork. what kind of dork are you?" and i didn't know how to answer. I'm not a gamer, but i know a little bit about most of the big games so i can follow a gamer conversation and get gamer humor. I don't play dnd, but i did once upon a time when i was much younger with my family, and while i suck miserably, i understand the appeal and get dnd humor. i can't really call myself a comic book geek, but i've started to get more interested in the past couple years and will gladly borrow and read whatever someone wants to give me. i do really like joss whedon, but i know a lot of people who like him waaaaaaaaaay more than i do and know EVERYTHING about the worlds and i have to admit that every time a main character dies i get really sad and wonder if it's worth it to watch if he just kills people i've come to care about.

i am a movie dork. but i've been surrounded by hardcore movie dorks who know infinitly more than i do. i'm a fantasy dork. i like sci-fi, but i like fantasy better. i do lots of weird crafty things like make quilts and fairies and bead odysseys, but really, i would say that i'm more the person you meet who's on the fringe of several different dork worlds.
